AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCE & NEGATIVE SENTENCE

Assertive Sentence ( বর্ণনামূলক বাক্য ): 

যে Sentence এ কোন কিছু বর্ণনা করে বা বিবৃতি প্রকাশ করেতাকে Assertive Sentence বা বর্ণনামূলক বাক্য বলে ।

যেমন:
1.আমি বই পড়ি - I read a book.
2. সে স্কুলে যায় - He goes to school.
3. জেলরা মাছ ধরিতেছে - The fishermen are catching fish.
4. মা রান্না করিতেছে - Mother is cooking.
5. আলিমা টাইপ করিতেছে - Alima is typing.
 6. সুইটি খেলিতেছে - Sweety is playing.
 7. স্বপন কাজটি করিয়াছে - Swapan has done the work.
8. রাজু এসেছে - Raju has come.
9. সাদিয়া বই পড়িয়াছে - Sadia has read a book.
10. ফাতেহা স্কুলে গিয়েছে - Fateha has gone to school.

Assertive sentence ২ প্রকার :

i. Affirmative sentence: sub.+ verb + Obj + place + time + ext.

She is well today.

ii. Negative sentence: sub. + A/v (auxiliary verb) +not + verb + place + time + others.

She is not well today.

Affirmative sentence to Negative sentence

03	ONLY( number/age ) Ex: He is only ten. Karim is only twenty two.	Not more than (years)/Not less than ( number) Ex: He is not more than ten. Karim is not less than twenty two.
04	MUST/OUGHT TO Ex: We must yield to our fate. You ought to obey your parents.	Can not but/Can not help + verb (ing) Ex: We can not but yield to our fate. You can not help obeying your parents.
05	Both…and/and Ex: Both Rajib and Adeeb are good friends. She took coffee and ice-cream.	Not only…but also Ex: Not only Rajib but also Adeeb are good friends. She took not only coffee but also ice-cream.
06	Every + noun Ex: Everyone hates a liar. Every mother loves her child.	There is no + noun + but + …/ There is no + noun + who + doesn’t + … Ex: There is no one but hates a liar. / There is no one who doesn’t hate a liar. There is no mother who doesn’t love her child. OR, No mother hates her child.
07	As soon as Ex: As soon as the thief saw the police, he ran away. As soon as the teacher entered into the classroom, the student stood up.	No sooner had + verb ( past participle ) + … + than Ex: No sooner had the thief seen the police than he ran away. No sooner had the teacher entered into the classroom than the student stood up.
08	Superlative Degree Ex: He is the best boy in the class.	Positive Degree Ex: No other boy in the class is so good as he.
09	Too…to Ex: He is too weak to walk. He is too immature to handle the issue.	So…that Ex: He is so weak that he can’t walk. He is so immature that he can’t handle the issue.
10	As…as Ex: He is as brave as a lion.	Not less…than Ex: He is not less ferocious than a lion.
11	Universal Truth	Not + Opposite word Ex: A: Man is mortal. P: Man is immortal. A: The weather is favorable. P: The weather is not unfavorable.
		If Opposite word is not available... A: Milk is white. P: Isn’t milk white? A: The sun rises in the east. P: Doesn’t the sun rise in the east?
12	Very/Very much Ex: He likes me very much.	Negative + at all Ex: He doesn’t dislike/hate me at all.
13	Sometimes Ex: My friend sometimes visits me. A day laborer is sometimes happy.	Not + always Ex: My friend doesn’t always visit me. A day laborer isn’t always happy.
14	Many Ex: There are many students in the class.	Not a few Ex: There are not few students in the class.
15	A few Ex: I have a few friends.	Not many Ex: I have not many friends.
16	A little Ex: I have a little rice.	Not much Ex: He has not much rice.
17	Much Ex: He has much money.	Not little Ex: He has not a little money.
18	Affirmative words  Ex: I shall remember you. Jerry was an honest man. This is an extra-ordinary ship.	Negative words Ex: I shall not forget you. Jerry was not a dishonest man. This is not an ordinary man.
19	Miscellaneous… Ex: Where there is smoke, there is fire. Every rose has a thorn. A life with an assignment is an actual life.	Miscellaneous… Ex: There can be no smoke without fire. There is no rose without a thorn. A life without an assignment is not an actual life.
